Rose early to make sure I didn’t miss out on breakfast. We were well on our way to visiting the ‘blue caves’ so I didn’t head back to bed. A light breeze was blowing which meant the sails were up on all the boats at sea, providing a nice backdrop against the islands.
We docked briefly before jumping on a small 12 person boat that took us into these caves that were about 12m by 15m high. The light that shone under the ledges created a stunning blue reflection of light throughout the caves. It was a shame we couldn’t stop to swim as the water looked very refreshing.
After, we slowly putted to a swimming spot 1-hour away, towards the island of Vis.
Here I adopted a pair of fins, snorkel and marks and spent a few hours combing the coastline. The water was incredible and looking up from 5 meters down I saw easily the rays of light speeding through the crystal clear water. I came across an abundance of small 5-15 cm, sea cucumbers, some sort of bright red coloured caterpillar, an octopus and an eel hiding in his hole mouth open gazing back at me.
Dylan, Phill and I also found a great ledge to jump from and had some fun leaping as far and high as we could!
In the port we found a local swimming spot and enjoyed a quick swim and another icecream – Mint and Coconut. Delicious.
We enjoyed our famous tuna+cheese roll for dinner, but I sneakily snuck in a vanilla slice with merengue on top, held together by some fine flakey pastry… Not sure if it was the view overlooking the whole port that made it, but it was a slice to remember.
I retired rather early; admittedly I did watch ‘Limitless’ as I wanted a quiet night to recharge my batteries!
