Friday, 15 July

Had a late start, obviously… Breakfast wasn’t anything fantastic, same nutella equivalent was slobbered over the white bread. Went back to bed and was rocked to sleep as there was quite a breeze blowing which made the boat sway. No way could this yacht survive in the Indian Ocean, it would roll in minutes!

We stopped at an open swimming spot and practiced flips and jumps off the boat for a few hours. I finished Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol” (finally!!!), that gave me a good jump. Now need to find a new book for the next few days.

Had another nap (to be honest, I don’t think I actually sleep all that well and hence need to sleep throughout the day. I can’t fully stretch out in my bunk!)

We docked in Split and I was immediately impressed. Our boat managed to score a pen right in front of the main strip. We walked though the main castle (which I didn’t even know about!) and enjoyed the shop fronts and ancient buildings.

There are a number of aussie tourists here which really take away some of the magic, but we still managed to have a good night. We ate a kebab for dinner (Dylan’s doing) then had our last drinks with the crew at a cheap cocktail bar. Note to self, if I’m going for a cocktail, better to spend more money and get a quality one than a blue pineapple juice called The Swimming Pool!

Stumbled upon a square with performers and fire dancers. Bumped into Framo, CJ and Vidders who were about to head on their sail Croatia expedition the following day.

Had a late night sitting up on the boat writing the blog and watching the tourists walk the stip.

Also – checked uni results and smashed my units! Took me a while to get to sleep I was so buzzing.

Spending 4 or so nights here so plenty of time to take some good quality pictures later.
