Saturday, 16 July

It was a hard night of little sleep, think I was more over tired and looking forward to the next stage of travelling (getting off the boat and sleeping in a full sized bed!).

We said our goodbyes to the crew and promised to stay on touch over face-book, much easier than writing letters! Dylan and I scoped out an internet connection and skyped the whole family. It was great to see them all and I felt like I was back in Perth.

We checked into our hostel (Sunseekers Hostel) which was in the old castle! Pretty cool I thought. The place was actually really nice and had internet and air-con in all the rooms. We lined up Harry Potter and it was nice to finally finish the saga of HP movies. Definitely didn’t do the book justice though…

I searched for a notable restaurant in the Split area, and we were guided to a great pizza place called Pizzeria Galija. We split a Plodovi Mora (tomatoes, cheese, shrimps, tuna-fish, mussels, parsley) and a Galija (tomatoes, cheese, ham, spicy salami, artichokes and wiener sausages) and drank another Tocenosuiketlo beer. Total price came to 16AUD… can’t get that at Chelsea…

We headed back to the hostel and I booked accommodation in DC and a flight to Albuquerque for when I’m in the states.

I was awoken to 3 French girls who rocked up late to the hostel (I was in a 6 bed room and was hoping to have it all to myself!). They seriously didn’t appreciate the time… I asked in French and they said it was 1am, but they still managed to stay up and read and scrimmage around in their packs for what seemed like too long!
