Week of Ibiza!

What a fun, but seriously busy week the past 5 days have been. Total of 13 aussies crashed at a seriously cool villa just outside of Ibiza town (right next to Amnesia the club). I don’t think the pics give the place enough credit; it was a awesome place to stay for the week.

We cooked great meals, with the best being a finale dinner with chicken and lamb kebabs barbequed on the webber. We bought the most delicious sausages that exploded in the mouth with a mix of sweet and spicy flavours. Combined with a mound of roasted sweet potatoes and a fresh salad we toasted our mojitos “to good friends, good times and life long memories”.

We hired mopeds for the week that meant we had the freedom and ability to check out the best beaches on the island and escape the crowds of English chavs and enjoy the topless locals. A few of the beaches we swam at are below.

The clubs were again an interesting experience. We saw Swedish House Mafia in the VIP section in Pacha. I went down to the front and shook each of the trio’s hands while they were playing their set! It was a great night with a good group people who danced and partied like there was no tomorrow. Other highlights included a performance by Avian Van Bruen at Space with an amazing light show, and a spectacular dancing show at Anmesia that involved milk, topless girls and muscular boys.

Sleeping in till 2.30 in the afternoon cut a few days in half but we managed to make the most of every minute when we weren’t sleeping! The sunset over the bay next to Café Del Mar was spectacular; again the pictures don’t give it justice. Rather hilarious when the 5 thousand strong crowd clapped and cheered when the sun finally disappeared over the horizon… as if it was a performance and needed to be acknowledged!

The highlights of the week were the good times with friends, good music and amazing beaches. Next time I visit Ibiza I want to sail a yacht around the island allowing me to explore the hidden beaches and relax in a swinging hammock on the deck throughout the day.
