Saturday, 22nd October

I rose at 8am and packed and did a quick load of washing. Lapo opened at 10am and I had a big feed of two plates of food. I rode over to Abbys where Lucas was already there. Nick and Joy arrived soon after and we packed the car and headed on our way to Arizona for the NLF game!

It was a 4 hour drive but we stopped off along the way. We had a look at Painted Desert National Park, an area of land that resembled a very dry desert.

We walked around and looked at the sights. There was a historic inn that used to be in use when the old route 66 hwy went by. It would have been a great place to stay with a magnificent view.

We made it to Falgstaff around 7pm our time (6pm LST). We checked into the Marriot hotel, Nick and Joy had booked a room with 2 double beds and a fold out couch for us, even though we could have stayed at Tim’s house (the one with the nice aroma). We got changed and headed to the Flagbrew and ordered a ‘shroom’ burger (meat, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, Swiss cheese and lettuce). I had a golden ale that was once of the nicest pales ales I’ve had on the trip. It was golden and had a sweet honey finish to it.

I played Lucas in table tennis as there was a table at the pub. I won the first set, but he came back and won the next two. I need to practice in the sub back at UNM.

After dinner Abby, Ava, Lucas and I went back to Tims place before we headed out to the Green Room to watch an electronic DJ play. It was great to dance to some good music with a great beat and a fun crowd. If only there were events like this in Albuquerque!

We made it home around 1pm, we wanted to have a good sleep for the next day – Game Day!.
