Obviously it was a late start. We had a good sleep in and rose around 11am. It was going to be a great day; we had a lot planned. It was also Abby’s 21st birthday, so it was a special day for her.
We headed off to Huntington Beach for another swim. It was a warm day and the weather was perfect for the beach. Unfortunately, the surf was well up, and the beach wasn’t the best for swimming – but surfing, it was pumping. I didn’t have flippers so I didn’t head out on the body-board. Even swimming in the water was similar to Lowlands beach in that there was a strong under current, a number of rips and large swell.
We spent most of the time lying in the sun and soaking up the smell, sound and satisfaction of lying by the water. It will be a long time before I have the chance to do this again!
We headed up for lunch, and came across a ‘farmers market’ on the way home – we stopped and had lunch. Lucas and I had an Asian noodle box and a large cup full of fresh watermelon juice. Something I must remember to make when I am home in the summer.
We changed and put on our shirts; we were off to Hollywood! The drive to the suburb was filled with top hits that themed ‘hollywood’ or had ‘hollywood’ in the lyrics!
We saw the sign! It was fun to see it. We saw the capital records building too.
We parked and walked down the strip of stars. It wasn’t all that it is hyped up to be, but it was still fun walking and seeing the famous movie, music or television idols that had be set in stone for as long as the city stands.
I had to take pictures of the Australians.
We dropped Abby, Maya and Ben off at the Wilmore Theatre for the concert. They had tickets for Foster the People.
Lucas and I set off, we went back to Hollywood Boulevard and found a nice restaurant. There were some good-looking people there. The later it got, the more attractive people we saw!
California is the place to be if you want to be seen, or have money and not sure how to spend it wisely.
We headed up into the Hollywood hills. It was fun having the car and the freedom to do what ever we wanted. We went to some great lookout and saw the city lights, and also the Hollywood Sign. Unfortunately it is not lit up at night, but just being in the area was a rush. There were some large houses and many nice cars as well.
We drove back into town and had a boba drink. It was better than the one down at Boradway! We picked up the others and headed back for a much needed nights sleep. We made it home around 1.30am.
